RowElite is a community of athletes brought together through the love of Rowing. Founded in 2016 by Olympic Rower and Multiple Time World Champion Matthew Tarrant we aim to provide the programmes and support networks to make you a stronger, fitter more confident athlete.

RowElite is for everyone of all experience levels and sporting backgrounds. Our programmes are written in a way that allows anyone to undertake at their own pace and speed.

The downloadable plans are available in four and six weeks. Both are made up of 3 sessions per week and come complete with session notes, set up instructions, speed targets and rest periods.

The subscription plans are made up of 3 sessions per week and come complete with session notes, set up instructions, speed targets and rest periods. The subscription plans work in six-week phases, for example, a six-week phase that builds to a 500m test and then transitions into a six-week maintenance phase and so on. Each phase is structured with clear focuses and the ability to log scores for easy session recall. The subscription plans are also third party compatible which means you can connect your Apple Watch, Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to your profile to collect all your daily data into one place and track your overall training and lifestyle in one place.

The remote tailored plans give you access to your very own World Class coach who you'll be able to contact around the clock with a built-in messaging service. Every session is programmed with you and your busy lifestyle in mind and will contain custom speeds specific to you. Each session will be reviewed by your coach. Once a session is complete you simply take a photo of the screen and upload to the relevant session. You can also upload videos for technical analysis.

All our plans are ready for anyone to take on. Each session has target speeds that you can adjust depending on your level of experience. If you want coaching from one of our World Class coaches then the remote tailored plans are the best way to go.

How often should I train?

Training volume should be based on personal preference and you should monitor how your body is reacting to that training load. We write three sessions per week as for us this seems to be a good balance for anyone who is new to the sport or anyone looking to be more competitive. Three sessions a week is enough to space out sessions and achieve proper recovery. If you want more, then, you have space in your week to add as you please.

What do I need to start training?

The number one piece of equipment is the rowing machine. Then, an internet connection if you're on either the subscription plan or the remote tailored plan to receive your workout and record your scores. If you've purchased either the four or six-week plan then you can print these off and log your results on the sheets supplied.

If you're old school then a note pad and pen are perfect. Each downloadable plan has a template for you to record scores alongside sessions. If you're on one of our subscription plans then you can easily log scores directly to your profile. If you're on our remote tailored plan you simply take a photo of the ergo monitor and upload to the relevant session.

The only service which guarantees you a personal remote coach is our remote tailored plan. However, if you have any questions during your journey then please reach out to info@rowelite.com and we'll try to help you out.

  • Login to your Trainerize web account

  • Click on "My Account" in the bottom left-hand corner

  • From the My Account menu click on "Billing"

  • From the page displayed click on "Cancel subscription"

What is the drag factor?

What is the drag factor?

​

The drag factor is usually confused with the damper setting on the side of the fan. In fact, the "damper" setting (The number on the fan) can offer a different resistance level depending on the environment of the machine, its age, model, altitude etc. The drag factor is the only way that you are guaranteed to achieve the same resistance level each time.
